Coastal Surveillance in Asia

The 10th Annual Coastal Surveillance conference was a resounding success this year, bringing together leading key naval officers and government officials from the Asia Pacific region to discuss and find solutions to enhance maritime security and surveillance. The conference also brought together industry stakeholders, providing Navies and Coast Guards with timely solutions to enhance both traditional and non-traditional maritime operations. Featuring over 200 delegates from over 15 countries over two days, Coastal Surveillance achieved the goals it set out to achieve this year, and built a strong platform for growth in future years as the region’s definitive summit for maritime surveillance and security.

We look forward to keep promoting the MRI in this area of the world as we believe that there is a lot of potential and that our solution can help to protect and control the boarders of these countries.

Perseus Project first test

The revolutionary maritime patrol aircraft Tecnam MRI has been chosen to be part of the first test of the Perseus Project. This project will strive to preserve the security of EU borders, and it will help to prevent tragedies related to illegal immigration as the one occurred in Lampedusa.

This test was carried out in the Alboran Sea and included both aerial and sea means. The information gathered by the sensors of these means were transmitted in real time to the ICC of the Civil Guard in Madrid. During the test many personalities were present, including Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz and the General Director of the Spanish Guardia Civil, Arsenio Fernandez de Mesa.

IQPC Conference in Rome

The TECNAM MRI had de honor to celebrate 100 years of Italian Naval Aviation in the 11th Annual Maritime Reconnaissance & Surveillance at Rome. Mr. José Manuel Pérez-Pujazón, Indra´s Deputy Executive Vice-President of Defense explained in his speech the MRI deployment on real maritime surveillance mission: detection and identification of targets, the size of maritime areas covered during each mission, the results obtained from the system when operated from Ground Support Station and the costs of the full operation.

Do it right the first time

Airborne Technologies gave its debut as an exhibitor at this year’s Paris Air Show and with Great Success!
Eagle Aviation signed a contract to purchase an Airborne Technologies TECNAM MMA with a complete surveillance configuration (Wescam MX-10 and BMS downlink system).

Mr. Manuel Garbaccio, General Manager of Eagle Aviation FZC: “We will apply the aircraft for pipeline surveillance at the Emirates and other Middle East countries. The TECNAM MMA is the perfect platform for airborne surveillance. With the low noise level, it´s multifuel capability and very attractive operating costs (DOC) the aircraft is economically unbeatable.
The time span of 8 month from our first contact with Airborne Technologies at the AERO in Friedrichshafen last April up to the delivery of the aircraft is extremely short and shows the flexibility of the company.”

The handover of the completely configured TECNAM MMA will take place at this year´s Dubai Air Show.

Mr. Wolfgang Grumeth, CEO of Airborne Technologies:” We focus on fully customized special mission platforms with leading-edge features that are quickly and straightforwardly at our customers disposal. This flexibility and our customer focus make us stand out of our larger competitors.”

Chelavia place largest ever order for tecnam aircraft

With an order recently announced at MAKS, the Russian aerospace trade show, valued at over €11.000.000, Russia’s ChelAvia confirmed its continuing investment in significantly expanding its fleet of Tecnam aircraft.

The Purchase Agreement includes ChelAvia adding new and upgrading variants of both the Tecnam P2002JF single and P2006T Twin.

This area has been suffering the constant attacks of smugglers, drug dealers, fisheries thefts and many other crimes. In particular most of the drug that come from South America is coming through routs and sailing on these waters. Indra was one of the sponsors of this conference and we were able to give a speech demonstrating the capacities of the MRI. We had a mock-up of the real aircraft and many of the Forces present during the conference were able to come to our stand and have a look at the System.

After two days of conference we realised that this area of the world needs help and International Cooperation to protect their coasts and they need it now… Thus is where we believe that the MRI can help those Agencies that are run by small budgets and really need eyes in the sky.

Limex Conference, Madrid

On the 20th of November we had the opportunitty to be a part of the Limex Conference held in Madrid. This conference gathered multiple authorities of different forces dedicated to security and defense, national and overseas. The subject of the conference was to expose the situation and the demands of the different forces represented. The necessity of implementing survelliance in Spanish coasts it´s imperative, in an economy run by budgets we strongly believe that the MRI could fill the gaps that others can´t.

We had the honor of inviting all the attendees to our headquarters in Casarubios del Monte,Toledo where we did a demonstration of the system. We started with an static display of the MRI.
